Sujani Throw

The Sujani Throw is a true celebration of one of India's most treasured weaving traditions. Handwoven in 100% cotton using the traditional Sujani weaving technique, each throw is cotton-filled and weighted for an exceptionally cozy, grounded feel. Striking indigo blue, beige and white tones are brought to life with handmade tassels, making each piece as beautiful as it is functional.

The Process: The rare weaving technique involved in making these throws is believed to have originated in the mid-19th century in the western regions of India. Its technique is distinguished by a double-cloth weave in which two layers of fabric are woven simultaneously and interlocked at regular intervals so that small pockets are created between them. These pockets are then filled with cotton during the weaving process, not by quilting or stitching afterwards, but integrally in the loom.
