This electric mixed media work by Chilean-born, Sausalito-based artist Paula Valenzuela crackles with quiet intensity. Layers of deep teal, forest green and near-black build a rich, atmospheric ground, warmed by unexpected passages of gold and chartreuse that glow from beneath the surface. A looping, calligraphic line sweeps across the composition in cream — part gesture, part script, part release — giving the piece a sense of motion that never quite settles. This is a painting you feel before you fully understand it.
