This framed vintage Kuba cloth is a striking example of traditional Congolese textile art. Handwoven from raffia palm and intricately embroidered, its layered geometry and rhythmic patterns speak to the rich cultural heritage of the Kuba people. Once used as currency or ceremonial gifts for tribal chiefs, it remains a powerful symbol of artistry and tradition.
Origin: Africa
Material: Raffia cloth, float-mounted and framed under museum glass
Dimensions: 25" W x 29" H
Marin Merchant Styling Tip: add texture, depth, and global context as a focal point or part of a curated gallery wall. Each Kuba textile is one of a kind, with slight irregularities that speak to its handmade origin.
